Advertorials are native ads with a single purpose: getting specific action from the reader.
I actually did a number of advertorials for The March of Dimes a while back. It was my pleasure to help spread the word on how we can help premature babies make it through such stressful times at birth.
The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.
They have many annual events and fundraisers and often advertising in local city magazines in various forms. The following is an advertorial I did that was published in Atlanta Magazine as well as Northside Hospital’s monthly periodical.
Click Here to read a piece where I am speaking to Mothers and families of premature babies and what they should be expecting in their pregnancy, as well as what is considered a healthy gestation period for giving birth. Below that article I introduce the Angel II, a neo-natal transport ambulance that in 2009 was one of two in the state.
Copywriting like this is informative.
It is meant to spread the word about the cause or product with factual information that all people can and should read if they are expecting.
This style of copywriting is similar to journalism in my opinion because even though I was given the topic and creative brief to create a nice light and uplifting article that an average reader could also digest and learn something. And maybe even feel compelled to donate to The March Of Dimes.
Techniques like this can also be utilized on website content writing, blogging, and any place where one might have a desire to read something similar to news worthy material.
